One hundred golfers were competing today for a chance to win their 2019 Birchbank membership. A brilliant sunny weather and fabulous course conditions made for a great day of fun golf.
All serious scoring was discouraged as the winner of the membership was picked by reverse draw – last name drawn wins!
Everyone won a Smoke Eaters game ticket and their pick from the prize table.
This year’s membership winner is Jim Brinson!
Thanks to the tournament sponsors the Trail Smoke Eaters and Birchbank Golf Course.
The Birchbank Ladies Golf Club held their closing event of the 2018 golf
season on Sunday, September 30th. Because of inclement weather the fun golf
competition was cancelled, although some of the ladies braved the weather
and played 18 holes anyway. Jeri Santarossa, Club Captain, welcomed the
ladies back in the afternoon for dinner and presentation of year-end prizes.
Edie Harasin was introduced and recognized for her many years as a member of
the ladies club. Trophies and prizes were awarded as follows: Crystal Cup
Match Play winner – Jeri Santarossa, runner-up – Dana Haas; B side winner –

Handicap Factor (1.296 improvement factor). The ladies enjoyed a delicious
turkey dinner following the prize presentations. Although that was the
final scheduled event of the 2018 golf season, many of the ladies will be
seen swinging their clubs well into the month of October. Pictured in the

The course was in terrific condition thanks to the work of our hard working grounds crew. Thanks also go to the Pro Shop and Bistro staffs for their work in making the event a success.
